$540 / 1br – Live Near the Levee

I couldn’t think of anywhere else I would rather live.

Ok, so the people responsible for digg.com need to get it together. I can appreciate the idea behind digg.com. I think it is a great site however, is there any who manages the site? I don’t think anyone behind digg actually looks at the content submitted by members. It has turned into Lord Of The Flies.

I think what was meant to be social networking has become what I like to call ‘ digg Wars’ everyone wants to be digg President. Anything that can be accessed from a web browser it  will have get a digg sooner or later.

Examples:

It usually takes me 10-15 pages of this kind of stuff before I find something that is halfway interesting. I really don’t feel like weeding threw these posts anymore.

After we spent last weekend in Atlanta; Jake and I flew into Indianapolis because the Airtran does not fly into the airport in Louisville. We have been here since Monday and I am not sure what to think about Indianapolis.

The thing about Indianapolis is, If you are trying to find the Interstate don’t count on any Signage. If you happen upon a Sign that offers direction to the Interstate, then expect the On-Ramp to be located on the other side of the street. You will not run into this much because, as a Rule, there aren’t signs posted to follow.

The Good People of Indianapolis hate Sweetened Tea. So, No, They will not make you any. Any Respectable Honky Tonk in the South will have a Pitcher of Sweetened Iced Tea available at all times. This however, is not the case for Indianapolis.

There are so many places to Shop. Downtown alone would take an entire weekend to visit the stores there. After that, there is much more!

So, that’s all I have for right now.

FINANCIAL SERVICES: IN-STORE FINANCIAL SERVICES

I was out of town this week and needed to use the services of the local WalMart where I was visiting to cash my paycheck. This in itself is an experience being the Holiday Season now and all, but the long line didn’t bother me so much as what was about to come.

After I camped out in the line to the Customer Service Desk for awhile I made my way to the Customer Service Rep. I hand her my check and my identification and without any verbal notice she was about to step away from her Register and take my belongings with her. I assume at this point to get an approval or whatever it is they need to get me on my way.

Well, my issue is that my identification rests in a valet from my wallet; among the various items kept in my valet are credit cards, random pieces of paper with numbers and other information I might need for later, along with the current cash I have on my person.

So I am a little shocked when this Rep just walks off with my cash money and my paycheck. I mean would WalMart appreciate it if without notice I walked outside to their parking lot and gave all the things I was about to purchase a ‘ once over’ to make sure I wasn’t getting ripped off? No, I am pretty sure this would blow over like a turd in a punch bowl. I am most certain I wouldn’t make it far from the front door, and I know not the 10-15mins this Rep was holding onto my identification.

There wasn’t much money in my valet but, this isn’t the point. I don’t think it would be professional if I were to walk off with the cash drawer and held onto it while I was deciding if I wanted to cash my check at this WalMart or not.

Yeah, I get it. they need to make sure things are covered on their end. Sure, I understand this. It goes without saying however, with this in mind I don’t think overlooking common courtesy and customer appreciation should be over looked during the process.

I don’t really feel comfortable with anyone walking out of my sight with my cash, or for that matter my credit cards, along with my identification which has my license number, address, date of birth, and other relevant information. I don’t know this person, they could very well be wanting to make me their next identity theft victim. Don’t get me wrong, I am not doubting the creditability of this person however, I do not like being put into a position where I have to guess it, especially when my creditability is in question. My point is, it can go both ways.

The simple solution to this problem would have been simply either calling the Manager to the register or, “I’m sorry, I can not cash this right now, I would need to get a Manager’s approval or you would have to come back when it isn’t as busy.”

Being bored with the day Crow visits his friend Cow, who wasn’t in the best of moods on this particular day but welcomed his friend Crow to his field regardless. Shortly after Crow arrived he began nagging Cow to play ‘ Hide and Go Seek’. Cow, not in the mood to play games finally agreed suggesting that Crow hide and Cow would go find him. Crow pleased with himself for breaking Cow down; went searching for a place to hide.

He came across this pile of shit; thinking to himself ‘…a perfect hiding spot.’ Crow climbs into this pile of shit and waits for his friend Cow to come searching. It was unknown to him Cow had no intentions of coming to find him. It was a trick on Crow just to get him to leave so that Cow could be in peace. This was indeed a dirty trick to play on a friend but, Cow could often be shallow much like his friend Crow.

While hiding in this shit waiting on Cow to come find him, Crow noticed it becoming harder to move eventually becoming stuck inside after the shit hardened. This does not sit well with Crow and he immediately screams for help. Having hidden very far away Cow was unable to hear his friend calling for help however, as luck would have it an old turtle happens to walk by. When he hears Crow screaming for help he stops to offer aid but can not be of much help because he was an old turtle. Wanting to help the old turtle tries to comfort Crow by telling him he will find someone who could help and would return shortly.

While waiting on the old turtle to return with help a tiny field mouse wonders by and asks Crow if he should seek help as well, Crow who was angry it has taken so long to get help tells the field mouse to find help but asks him to return quickly.
It was while waiting on the old turtle and field mouse to return with help that the Sly Fox managed to find Crow stuck in this pile of shit and offers help in helping him out. Crow was reluctant at first but, reached out his wing for the Sly Fox to grab and pull him out of this pile of shit he had been stuck in for so long.

After the Sly Fox grabbed Crow’s wing he struggled for a minute trying to free him from this pile of shit and eventually managed to help him get loose. Crow was very lad to be out of the shit but, before he could offer his thanks; Sly Fox opens his mouth and eats the now free Crow.

The moral of this story is: It’s not always an enemy who gets you into shit, and it is not always a friend that helps you out.
